To scan an AI Dermatology Diagnostics slide from within Vetscan Imagyst:
- From the Worklist, select the test you wish to scan.
- Click Scan.
Note: The test information will be prepopulated by any FUSE-connected software system. If the FUSE integration is not available, manually add the test information. For more information, view Adding a test.
In the Scan dialog window:
- Add the test sample information:
- Site name: Enter the name of the site where the test sample was taken.
- Location of sample: Choose from the dropdown options.
Note: If you select Ears as the location, you must choose whether or not the test has blood present. You will then have to create two scan-area masks, one for each ear. While creating them, make sure:- The scan-area masks do not overlap the divider.
- The left and right smears are on the appropriate side of the divider.
- The scan-area masks are not too large, as this creates a long scan time.
- Region location: Click to place a dot in the image at the area where the sample for the test was taken.
- Blood present: Select whether or not blood was present in the test sample.
Important: The Scan dialog window saves automatically and can be closed anytime without losing progress.
- Choose a scanner from the Select scanner dropdown menu and make sure the scanner’s status shows a green available indicator.
Important: Select a different scanner if the status is busy or offline.
- Click Open tray to unlock the slide locking mechanism and open the tray.
- When the tray on the selected scanner opens, place the dermatology slide on the scanner stage with the label towards the right side of the stage facing up, and then lock it in place.
Important: Make sure the label is on the right side of the stage and that the slide is flat.
- Return to Vetscan Imagyst and click Preview.
- Once the preview appears, review the suggested scan area and the estimated scan time. If the suggested scan area needs adjustment, you can use the scan area mask tools to make necessary changes. For more information, view Scan area mask.
Important: Review the estimated scan time if you change the scan area mask.
- Click Continue to start scanning.
Important: You cannot start scanning until the site information is filled in.
- Click Close to close the dialog. Your test has been submitted.
After scanning the slide, Vetscan Imagyst will analyze the test. While it is processing the slide, you will see the following statuses appear to the right of the test you scanned:
Analyzing: Vetscan Imagyst is currently analyzing the slide.
Error: An error occurred while scanning or analyzing the slide. You should rescan the slide. If the error persists, contact technical support.
Review: An orange Review button indicates that Vetscan Imagyst has completed the analysis and generated a report for your review. For more information, view Reviewing Dermatology diagnostics results.
Reviewed: Someone has clicked Finalized in the Assessment drawer. Clicking Finalized changes a scan’s status from Review to Reviewed. When a test has the reviewed status, the test is complete.
Important: If a test is incomplete or unsubmitted, it will have the Incomplete test order status in the Worklist. Select Open or Scan to complete the order.
