Assessment drawer
Updated
by Shannon Mitchell
The Assessment drawer appears at the bottom of the Gallery view page for most tests. It saves a user’s test evaluation and automates requests for additional reviews and rescans.
To access the Assessment drawer for a specific sample:
- Click on the name of a selected test in the Worklist. Clicking on the name will open that test in the Gallery view.
- If the Assessment drawer is available, it appears at the bottom of the Gallery view page. Click the up arrow (
)
on the right side of the blue bar to open the drawer or click the down arrow () to minimize the drawer.
Important: You must be assigned a test before making changes or saving your evaluation.
Assessment drawer features
Element | Description |
Open drawer ![]() Close drawer ![]() | Click the up arrow to open the Assessment drawer and the down arrow to close the drawer (clicking anywhere on the blue bar performs the same functions). |
Assistance actions menu ![]() | To flag a scan as invalid for an inadequate specimen, blurry scan, or improper AI-based classifications, click Assistance to submit the test for a parasitologist to review or to flag it for AI improvement. Note: An indicator dot next to the Assistance icon will indicate an action was taken (Request parasitologist review or Flag for AI improvement) in the Assistance menu. |
Request parasitology review | Select Request parasitology review for slide results, which require further review by a parasitologist. The following fields must be entered: the patient’s age, the test kit used, and any clinical signs. Once entered, you can Cancel (clears the request) or Request a review to send the request to a parasitologist. Once Request review is selected, it cannot be edited. |
Flag for AI improvement | Click to flag results that need AI improvement by adding a note describing why you believe the test results are inadequate. |
Assessment drawer menu ![]() | Click to open the Assessment drawer menu. The menu lets you set your preferences for the Open next case on save. Note: the Save button will be grayed out, and display Read only if the signed-in user lacks permissions or the test is not assigned to that user. |
Notes | Enter any notes you want to be included in the report. Click on the Notes input to enter, edit, or delete a note. Important: Once a case is saved, you cannot edit or delete any existing notes. |
Finalize ![]() | When Finalize is clicked, all changes made within the Assessment drawer are saved and locked. The results are then sent to a Patient Information Management System (PIMS), and a PDF report becomes available. The Worklist will show the test listing as Reviewed. |
Finalize and next ![]() | Click to finalize the test report and proceed to the next test. |
Clinical profiles
AI tests will display information on possible clinical profiles to consider within the Assessment drawer. These clinical profiles are calculated from the AI test results and can aid in diagnosis.
Profiles may point to cells or parasites needing further testing, depending on your geographic location. Other profiles may indicate non-significant cells or parasites within the animal’s sample. Read the profiles or warnings carefully within the Assessment drawer to help with your diagnosis.
Assessment drawer alerts
The Assessment drawer will display alerts for AI Blood Smear Analysis tests if the results need further review. Notes can still be saved within the Assessment drawer with these alerts. The alert will change colors depending on the level of alert.
Color | Alert |
Blue alert | No alert or low alert. A low alert will point out classifications to consider while diagnosing the animal. |
Orange alert | Medium alert. An Add-on expert review is suggested. |
Red alert | High alert. An Add-on expert review is recommended. |
For more information, view Add-on expert review.
