You can add scans to the sample details after creating a Digital Cytology test in the Worklist.

To scan a Digital Cytology slide from within Vetscan Imagyst:

  1. On the Add fluid or lesion site card in the sample details of a Digital Cytology test, click Add a scan to add the first scan or click Scans to create another scan.

Note: You can create up to two scans per site card and up to four scans per test.

Important: Before initiating a scan from within Vetscan Imagyst, prepare the slide for scanning. For more information, view Digital Cytology slide preparation.

  1. When the scan dialog opens, select a scanner from the Select scanner dropdown list and ensure its status shows a green available indicator.

Important: Select a different scanner if the status is busy or offline.

  1. Click Open tray.
  2. When the tray on the selected scanner opens, unlock the slide locking mechanism, place the slide on the glass stage, and then lock the slide in place.

Important: Make sure you place the slide on the correct scanner. The label should be on the right side of the stage, and the slide should lie flat on the stage.

  1. Using the locking mechanism, lock the slide in place.
  2. Return to Vetscan Imagyst and click Preview.
  3. Once the preview appears, review the suggested scan area mask and the estimated scan time.
  4. If the suggested scan area mask is acceptable, click Continue. If you wish to adjust the mask, use the scan area mask tools to edit the existing mask. Once the scan area mask and scan time are acceptable, click Continue. For more information, view Scan area mask.

Important: To add an additional scan, follow the procedure outlined above. You may scan a total of four slides for each test order.
