To scan an AI Urine Sediment Analysis test from within Vetscan Imagyst:

  1. From the Worklist, select the test you want to scan.
  2. Click Scan.

Note: A FUSE-connected software system will prepopulate the test information. If the FUSE integration is not available, manually add the test information. For more information, see Adding a test.

Important: You should prepare the slide for scanning before initiating a scan from within Vetscan Imagyst. For more information, view AI Urine sediment slide preparation.
  3. When the Scan dialogue opens, enter the necessary details.
  4. Choose a scanner from the Scanner dropdown menu and ensure its status shows a green Online indicator.
  5. Click Open tray.
  6. When the tray on the selected scanner opens, unlock the slide locking mechanism, place the slide on the glass stage, and then lock the slide in place.

Important: Make sure the slide is correctly oriented and lying flat on the scanner’s stage. If a clinic has multiple scanners, make sure to place the slide on the correct scanner.
  7. Return to the Vetscan Imagyst. Click Scan slide.
  8. Once you have completed the slide-scanning steps, Vetscan Imagyst will analyze the slide. While it is processing the slide, you will see the following statuses appear to the right of the test sample you scanned:
    1. Analyzing: The slide is currently being analyzed by Vetscan Imagyst.
    2. Error: An error occurred while scanning or analyzing the slide. You should rescan the slide. If the error persists, contact technical support.
    3. Review: An orange REVIEW button indicates that Vetscan Imagyst has completed the analysis and generated a report for your review.
    4. Reviewed: The slide has been finalized in the Assessment drawer. Clicking Finalize in the Assessment drawer changes the test status from Review to Reviewed.

Note: When a test has the Reviewed status, the test is complete.
