Add-on expert review

If you want a test to be further reviewed by a pathologist, you can request an Add-on expert review. This can be added through your clinic’s PIMS via FUSE. If your PIMS is not connected, follow the manual process below. 

Important: The test must have completed processing; however, you do not need to have finalized your test review to request an Add-on expert review.

To select an Add-on expert review:

  1. Click Main Menu ().
  2. Click the Worklist link.
  3. Click Add test () at the top left of the page.
  4. In the Add test dialog:
    1. From the test type dropdown, choose Add-on expert review.
    2. Enter the patient ID.

      Important: The patient ID must match the patient ID from the original test.
    3. Enter the name of the animal (optional).
  5. Click Create.
  6. Once the test order is created, you will be taken to the Test order entry page, where you can select a test for expert review. 

    Important: The selected test must first be reviewed.
  7. Select the test you wish to be reviewed and click Select test.
  8. Complete any necessary information in the patient history and attach documents (in PDF or .jpg/jpeg format) to assist the pathologist. 
  9. Click Submit order. The test is sent to the reference lab for review. A report will be sent for your review when the analysis is complete. For more information, view Reviewing Digital Cytology results.
