Digital Cytology test order sections
A Digital Cytology test order has sections to ensure the Virtual Reference Laboratory (VRL) has enough information to diagnose the animal. Some sections feature menu selections, while others need more description. The patient history, which includes species, breed, age, sex, where to submit the test and clinical history, auto-saves whenever a change occurs.
Section | Description |
Species | A species list, including canine, equine and feline, is available, or you can add a new species. You can select the species when you create a new test, but you also have the option to edit it later if needed. Note: If a newly entered species is created, it will be remembered in the system for future use, and you can also choose to remove it. |
Breed | An optional menu of the different breeds of the chosen species. A new breed can also be entered if a newly entered species is created. |
Age | A menu of ages ranging from one month to 20+ years. |
Sex | A menu of the sex and reproductive status of the animal. |
Submit test to | A menu of the labs to which you can send your tests. Note: If the priority tests feature is enabled, two priority options are available for selection:
|
Clinical history | A section with unlimited characters describes an animal's clinical history. It is recommended that the history be kept brief, as this is best for the technicians at the reference lab. |
Sample details
The sample details include site cards, which appear above the sidebar in the slide view. Site cards display information for the test entered during test creation, including details like USG, RBC count, or colours. The site cards are visible in the sidebar for all AI tests.
Fluid site | A site card used to describe a test prepared from a fluid sample. For more information, view Fluid site card. |
Lesion site | A site card used to describe a test prepared from a lesion sample. For more information, view Lesion site card. |
