AI Faecal Analysis slide preparation

Collect faecal matter

  1. Unscrew the tube cap from the collection tube.
  2. Add one scoop, about one gram, of faecal Matter to the collection tube.
  3. Use a stir stick to remove the faecal matter from the scoop and mix it.
  4. Screw the sample tube onto the collection tube.
  5. Continue twisting until the tubes are firmly screwed together.

Prepare faecal sample

  1. Shake the tubes and then place them in a centrifuge.
  2. Spin the sample for two minutes at 300-500 RCF.
  3. Unscrew the collection tube with the scoop and discard both.
  4. Place the sample tube in a tray.

Add the sample to a slide

  1. Place a glass slide in the slide template with the name or barcode towards the top.
  2. Pull material from the top of the sample tube using the transfer loop.
  3. Place two to four loops of faecal matter onto the glass slide around the edge of the target circle.

Important: If you remove material from the collection tube instead of the sample tube, the test won’t be accurate and may receive an error indicating that large debris is underneath the coverslip.

Place the coverslip on the slide

  1. Orient the coverslip with the Imagyst text readable in the lower left-hand corner of the coverslip.
  2. Place the coverslip on the glass slide over the targeted area of the slide template.
