Prepare urine sample

  1. Place the centrifuge tube containing the sample into a centrifuge. Ensure that the centrifuge is balanced.
  2. Spin the sample for 2 minutes at 450-500 RCF. Allow the centrifuge to come to a complete stop.
  3. Place the centrifuge tube in a tray.
  4. Unscrew the tube cap from the collection tube.
  5. Remove the supernatant by attaching the XactUrine pipette tip to the micropipette. Tilt the tube to pour off the supernatant until no liquid is visualized above the stopper.
  6. Return the centrifuge tube to vertical.
  7. Press the plunger on the micropipette 5 times until the pellet is resuspended.

IMPORTANT: If you mix the centrifuged sample layers, the test may provide inaccurate results.
